Responsibilities

• Participating in kick off meetings to determine project scope, requirements, deliverables, budget, costing and schedules
• Working with the Mechanical Design team to confirm design details
• Researching and analyzing requirements and technical specifications to satisfy end-user requirements
• Developing the equipment motor lists (e.g. room designation, loading, single line diagrams, VFD sizing, detailed electrical calculations, etc.) and device lists
• Producing design documents, schematics, and process control diagrams

Qualifications

• An Electrical Engineering or related Degree with 10+ years of experience designing low voltage power distribution drive panels & PLC control panels.  A P.Eng. license is an asset.

Skill Requirements

Responsibilities

• Participating in all phases of the design, development, and implementation of our equipment and systems.
• Developing machine concepts and detailed designs in Autodesk Inventor. This may include plant layouts, board handling equipment or bulk material handling equipment. Includes both original equipment design as well as the integration of Gyptech equipment with purchased equipment from vendors.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Spending extended periods of time on-site working with an Electrical Site Supervisor to ensure successful installation of Gyptech electrical and control systems during construction phases
• Equipment and control panel testing and quality control
• Testing IO, control circuits, LV power distribution, drives/motors and safety wiring
• Troubleshooting, correcting and repairing problems with electrical & control systems at Gyptech sites during commissioning and support phases
• Helping to troubleshoot VFD’s and other motor control devices as well as various types of industrial networking and communication protocols (Ethernet, Profibus, DH+…)
• Generating Electrical Bid Packages for quoting purposes, including;
  • Written specifications, documents and drawings
• Generating electrical installation drawings and documents, including;
  • Single line diagrams from motor list summaries.
  • Cable schedules from motor and device lists.
  • Cable tray layouts.
  • Electrical building service drawings.
  • Electrical service schematics.

Qualifications

• Electrical Apprentice, Technical Diploma, Engineering Degree or a demonstration of equivalent experience

Additional Information

This position is based out of our head office in Burlington; however, it is primarily a field position with the requirement to travel on a consistent basis. It is expected the annual travel commitment would be 6 to 8 months within a year.

• Set up and operation of CNC milling machines to manufacture plates and weldments to engineering blueprints for custom industrial equipment
• Verify conformance of machined work to specifications, using measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, etc
• Study machining instructions, work orders, and drawings to determine dimensional and finish specifications, sequence of operations, set-ups, and tooling requirements
• Select cutting tools according to machining instructions

• Observe boring operations to detect malfunctions
• Lift work pieces onto worktables either manually or with hoists/cranes (up to 50lbs)
• Installing tools and spindles
• Document work performed/completed in job sheets
• Daily housekeeping of work area and maintaining equipment

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience operating a CNC Milling machine in a machine shop setting. Post secondary education in General Machining is an asset.
